Rags to Riches Theatre Returns to Sanford
Don't miss Rags to Riches Theatre's production of "Creating Jack Tales," Wednesday, July 1 at 11:00 a.m. This performance is FREE and open to the public, and there's no need to sign up. The event will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 203 Hawkins Avenue, next door to the library's main branch. Children who are participating in the summer reading program should bring their reading records with them. For more information, call the library at (919) 718-4665. Wednesday, July 15 at 11:00 (for grades K-3) Tunes and Tales:enjoy silly stories, skits, and songs presented by the youth services staff and friends.
Tuesdays, July 21 & 28 at 2:00 p.m. (for grades 4-6, limited to 20 participants)
Make Your Own Commercial
Work with a group to write and film a short commercial, which will be posted on the summer reading program blog. Sponsored and conducted by the Girl Scouts.
Thursday, June 25 at 7:00 p.m. (for all ages) Family Game Night: Join us for board games and more!
Thursdays, July 9,16, 23, & 30 at 7:00 p.m. (for elementary-school age children and their families): Family Story Time: Special stories and crafts for children in grades K-5 and their parents. (Younger siblings may attend; however, the program and crafts are designed for school-age children.) Sponsored and conducted by the Girl Scouts.

Summer Reading 2009: Be Creative @ Your Library
This year's summer reading program will take place between June 21 and July 30. Scroll down to see some of the exciting programs and workshops we have planned!
NEW THIS YEAR: The summer reading program includes all ages. Come to the library beginning June 15 to pick up your reading record. Record the time you spend reading. The first 150 readers between the ages of 5 and 12 to complete their reading records will receive a bag of fabulous prizes! (You can read as much as you like, but you can only receive one prize bag.)

July 8 2:00 p.m. Practical jokes, pranks, & tricks Fool your friends! Gross out your parents! (for students in grades 4 through 7)
July 14 11:00 a.m. Make a "stained glass" picture (for students K-3, or ages 5 through 9)

Drama Workshop: "Who's in Rabbit's House?" (grades 3 through 6, or ages 9 through 12) Meets Mondays, July 6 through 27 1:30-2:30 p.m. Performance Wednesday, July 29 at 11:00 a.m. [Participants must be present at all sessions and final performance.]
